new dyno numbers - AEM cold air intake
I recently installed a AEM cold air intake on my '90 Accord DX 5-speed. I was finally able to dyno it today at work. It did definitely feel alot on the street, so I was anxious to see it picked up.
Here is the graph:

It didn't pick up much at peak, but it did gain quite a bit in the midrange (13hp in some spots).
Just for fun, I took the power steering belt off. Here was the result:

7hp/5tq for free!
I have yet to make it to the track with the new mods. It ran 16.10@85 completely stock, so it should be well in the 15s now with the air we have had lately.
Not bad numbers for a 155k mile motor.
DC sport header, hi-flow cat, Greddy catback are going on soon... along with a ZEX kit sitting in the closet.
Ricers beware.. the Beige Blurr is on the prowl. :fawk:

so this proves that Import Tuner's article about the AEM cai on "any" Accord makes 4.5+hp gain on the I-4s, VTEC or not. damn good work, THX for the info. can't believe the PS pump was that harsh being that small anyway. the A/C could be a few more ponies, since it's winter now you don't need freon.
