Run-About flasher unit

no because the resistor your are changing isn't part of the driving circuit, it's just the timer part of the flasher, how long it stays on and off, it's a regular old RC timer, if you increase R you slow it down because it takes longer for the C to discharge, and conversly if you reduce the R the C will dishcharge faster making them blink faster, it has nothing to do with teh actual drive of the lighting circuit.

I did it tonight. It worked perfect! If anyone wants to do this to slow down the blinkers, then get a 1 mega ohm pot like cryogen97 mentioned. If you want to speed them up, then get a 100K pot. Thanks again!

hey, don't want to thread jack but since there seems to be a lot of people who know what the hell they're talking about on here and i don't know much about electrical stuff,
how do i wire my bumper lights so they stay on? I wanted it to do what the front bulb in the corner does, which is stay on with parking lights, but blink when the turn signal is on.
i tried splicing the wire to the corner, but neither came on when i tried it cause i guess it was drawing too much power for botrh of them, so what should i do?

Yeah I tried that. It doesn’t do anything unless I turn it all the way. Then it starts making that buzzing sound because its trying to flash to fast. The LEDs don’t flash with it though. Think I blew the flasher? I soldered it properly. Maybe that flasher was on its way out though and it didn’t like the mod I did to it.

Okay I think I know what happened. The other night I bought a 1 mega ohm pot and just twisted the wires to it (lazy to solder). Maybe they loosened up. I re-soldered the connections on the POT and it seems to be working fine now. How stupid of me.
