Default F*cked up my accord today...

i was driving on the fwy at 11pm and i fell asleep and i hit the side guard rail on the fwy, goin at about 80 mph. I hit it with my side of the car so there is a severe side body damage going from back of door to the rear fender. I have 9250 miles on my brand new car and its a 2 door Ex model. Does anyone know if i will get covered by my insurance company? or do i have to pay for it from my pocket? Thanks. And sorry, there are no pics. my camera is f*cked up too.

hm... narcoleptic?

sorry about the damage on the brand new car. i would imagine your insurance policy should go into effect, assuming you got more than just "liability coverage". as long as you have "collision", you just have a deductible to pay along with it. and depending on what your policy is, and who your carrier is, could be $500-$1000 out of your pocket and the rest by insurance.

problem is, your monthly premiums will likely increase. next time, have some vivarin handy, or start sipping some Red Bull. you'll have a bloody headache but you won't fall asleep.

Yeah, insurance will all depend on what kind of coverage you chose. For me I have what's required, plus stuff to cover vandalism, theft, deer, etc. but not if I cause the accident. I decided not to pay that premium because my chances of causing something were pretty low. I hope you're fully covered. That had to have been scary, not to mention I would be seriously pissed at myself.

Full coverage IS required when the car isn't payed for... especially on used cars... DISCLUDING leases.

ohh......that sounds like a pretty coo excuse to give. Should i say that i swerved to avoid a creature on the road or should i just say that i fell asleep? Which excuse will benefit me better in this case? Thanks.
