Default rebuilding CV joints

i was wondering if anyone had any experence rebuilding their CV joints, anything to watch out for, or if its easier to just get the rebuild ones from auto zone (honda wants like $250 for the rebuild ones, too damn much for me) and also what happens with the half shaft, is there a bearing that i have to replace or anything like that? ALSO do i have to drain my tranny fluid or anything like that??
many thanks

no, you don't have to drain the tranny... you just take the boot off... replace the bearings.... pack it full of grease.... and seal the boot back up.... easy as that.... i had to repack the bearings in my drivers side one when i put my camber kit on. i let the assembly rotate too far out when i took the upper control arm loose to put it on. the CV joint seperated.. it sucked... it was messy as hell... but it's good as new now

I simply got rebuilt axles for only $55 each and swapped them out. Very easy, much less messy...

they are easy. get a haynes manual...that would be the best for you. they are pretty cheap too.
