Greetings.

I have a 1999 Accord coupe with the factory alarm and since I've bought another daily driver the coupe hasn't been driven much. As a result, the battery died

Now that I've replaced the battery, when I connect the second battery terminal the alarm goes off and will not turn off using the remote.

I've searched other threads and I've cleaned the sensors, the car has never been slim jimmed and I have a new battery in the remote.

I've just found the "Keyless Entry Remote Programming" FAQ and I'm wondering if my issue is as simple as that. Or could it be something else?
(the coupe is stashed at work, so I can't try and reprogram the remote now).

Since I don't use my Accord much, I might sell it (it only has 26,000 miles on it), so I'd appreciate any help with my alarm issue.

when it goes off again, try locking/unlocking the drivers side door with your key.
