help today when my dad was driving my accord something happend real bad he said the car suddenly loss power and he pulled over to see what happend. so then he called me. so i went to see my baby parked on the side of the street and went to turn the ingition on and seemed fined then i put the car in D4 and let go of the brakes all of a sudden i hear some clanking noise and the car would not move. its like in Nutreal or something. im thinking this is a tranny problem but dont know excatly can any one recommend me what to do?

 

So pressing on the accel pedal reved the engine, etc, but it wouldn't budge? It would sound to me like some sort of a drivetrain/axle/tranny problem, but I know nohting about such things. All I can say is, what kind of driving was your dad doing to blow your tranny, if that is indeed what happened? A little drag spirit in him, is there?

 

nope no drag spirit in him but im sure he drives like an old lady does but yeah the engine would rev normally while in park!

 

Does it rev normally in D4 too? Prolly doesn't make a diff, just wondering. For all you knowledgeable people who may come in here: I suppose you've tried it in D3 also? Is it ever possible that the shifter would be messed up and it'd be thinking it was in a different gear?

 

yup i tried it in all gears and still the car will not move.
everytime i rev my car i notice my speedo will move also kinda wired!

 

did you take out your axles?

 

no i did not take out my axles! oh yeah another thing i notice is when i put the car back in park mode i hear grinding noise

 

my 96 had the same problem
when i put it in drive it wouldn't go
it was the tranny

 

check your tranny fluid... it might be as simple as that

but it sounds like the tranny is shot
but atleast 1 gear should work if its shot
