oh yeah, when and if you get one, make sure you get the metal bracket that goes inside the headliner, that is what holds the light in place.

anyone know if this is possible on a 5th gen civic? I've always wanted to yank one of the dome lights from a 6th gen civic and slap it on my 5th gen... lighting sucks in my interior

Yes, its possible... just make sure there is the proper clearance above the headliner to fit the light... all that has to be done is cut the hole, run the wirring, mount the bracket and screw in the light... its really simple, just a little intimidating to cut the headliner, seeing how they are sooo expensive to replace... just take your time.

They have the dome light assembly
Here, but its like $27... you might be able to find it cheaper at a junk yard.

It has a dome light and map lights
thats why i want it - only the legend sedans have this set up the coupes just got map lights.
The dome light trigger is a NEGATIVE... so the dome light is constantly supplied with a positive feed, when you open a door, it grounds the light... or when you flip the switch on the light, it also grounds it.
that would make sense since i can turn the light on when i'm in the car - i just realized that it was negative triggered(i'm a little slow)

ok so now i see what i have to do with this

thanks for the advice everyone

when ever i get it done i'll post a pic and tell how it came out

a headliner is anywhere from $250-$350... depending on the car and model (sunroof or not)

that bulge is just there to make the visors blend in better... I think... theres nothing up there.

That's a good idea, I also want to add some sort of courtesy light in the back, as well as lights in my vanity mirrors... let us know how it works out!
