after about 20 minutes of messing with the boost controller to get it on 9 lbs

final numbers were 221.1 hp and 238.7 ft/lbs on 10 lbs WITH MY STOCK CAT. the guy at the dyno said he would guarantee me at least 240hp with a straight pipe. so i'm happy. i wanted 230hp but its close. i'm gettin a straight pipe made as we speak now and when i get that done i'll go back and get 3 power pulls for another $50. max hp is at 5900 and max tq is at 4100

i'll scan the dyno charts sometime

just for the record. with intake, header, exhaust, VAFC. i dynoed at 142.4 hp and 143.6 ft/lbs
you running a FMAX turbo right? damn those are some pretty good numbers. i was laughing at first when i saw u only got 185hp then i saw u got 269hp have u gotten any motor work done? like pistons, port/polish, rods, and etc?

no motor work at all. stock internals everywhere (thats my next project)

and i had a friend molded the pillar for me

and when i saw 185hp on my first run i about ripped the turbo off right there. didnt even look at anything. saw the 185hp and said "lets turn the boost up" i wasnt leaving without more than 220. first couple runs on 10 lbs i put out like 212 until we got the fuel curve right and got it up to 221. not bad. considering i gained 78hp and almost 100 ft/lbs from i/h. now when i get the rods and pistons and a few other things and can turn the boost up to 15 lbs on the street i'll be very happy

98AccordEX,

Were do plan to get your rods and pistons from? I'm just curious thinking of building a N/A f23 don't ask why, just curious, since F23 parts are hard to come buy.

Did you install the Fmax kit yourself? How well did the intercooler fit with all the stock bracing of the front bumper?

Other then installing the FMax kit would type of tuning have you done to make the Turbo Daily friendly?

well i know JE will make custom pistons so i'll have them do the pistons. rods i havent really checked out much. i havent done a whole lot of research on anything yet. right now i'm thinkin JE pistons, Crower rods, and Darton sleeves. but i'm not sure if Crower makes rods for the F23 or Darton makes sleeves for it. i'll have to do more research

i didnt install my turbo. a shop said they would for $200 so i said go for it. i've done all the other work. the interooler fit fine. everything from the kit fit fine except the filter. i couldnt get the pipe to fit so i just have the filter clamped right to the turbo. which isnt bad cause its right behind the fan so its getting cold air

i drove around without goin to the dyno for about 6 months. it ran fine. but my first run i put out 185hp. after the hour at the dyno i finished with 221hp. now i did give it more boost. but still. its a ton different now

i raced an older 82-86 Supra last night. shifting at 4800 each time and giving it about 60-70% throttle i had about 3 cars on him up to 70

98AccordEX,

I've been looking for Pistons and rods. Looks like Wiseco (raceeng.com) will make custom piston for a good price and Pauter will make custom rods I think. Currently nothing is available on the market. Any reason you need to sleeve the block? Do you plan to run that much boost?

Have you thougt about just building and installing an F22 there is nearly everything on market for one of those blocks and I figure boost can over come the slight lose in displacement

I'm really scared of bolting an Fmax turbo onto my F23A (48k mi) in my 2000 coupe. I don't know why, it just seems like such a bad idea to boost the little trooper. Did you install your V-AFC unit? Is it hard to tune your fuel curve for the turbo? How fast does the turbo come on, 3000-4000rpm?

I was hoping to make 175hp/175torq at the wheels with a great head port and 11:1 pistons, lighter rods and flywheel but your turbo numbers a 6lbs of boost seem to kill that dream a bit

i thought about doin an F22 build up but i would rather do the F23 since its the motor that came with the car. i would rather have custom pistons made. JE will make custom ones. if you get new pistons its always good to sleeve the block. the F23 uses an open deck which isnt the best for boost. i have 95k on my car. dont be scared of boosting. on heavy cars with a SOHC theres gonna be no way to make an all-motor car fast. my next project will be a civic built all motor. i love all motor cars but theres no way to do a SOHC all motor. no i didnt install my VAFC. i hate wires. give me bolts and sockets and i'm fine. but when it comes to wires (except stereos) i let someone else do them. i had my fuel curve tuned on a dyno. NA i made 142hp and 143ft/lbs with i/h/e/vafc

the turbo kicks in around 2300. my torque numbers at 2200 are 80. but at 2300 its at 160. its at 200 hp at 4500 and it keeps goin up until 5900 and it drops back down. i honestly have not hit full boost on the street yet since i had it dynoed. i would say full boost will be hit around 4000. at 3000 i have about 7 lbs
