You need to take into consideration your location also. CA requires a CARB exempt sticker on modified intakes. If no sticker is present, you'll fail inspection.

I'm not too sure which brands are CARB exempt anymore, but years ago it was only AEM and IceMan.

Best intake mod ever.

i'd go with the AEM intake and i'm sure that it is still CARB exempt.

I think im just going to get a SR, much cheaper than the CAI with the bypass valve, and less stress with the water issue, at the same time looks better than cutting some holes in the intake box...if anyone has a SR, are they pleased with it??

By the way, the piping for an AEM is smaller in diameter than stock, until you get back to the resonator. I'm not kidding.

so just buy a K&N drop-in filter for like $45 and just take of the top piece of that and there are no problems with that?? the filter wont pop out?? or will i get a lot of debri inside??

No no...you leave the air box as is, only changing the filter out with a K&N. The thing I took off is the resonator, which is the big plastic box down in front of the wheel well. You could leave the rubber connector ring or add a piece of pipe to it if you like. It will look completely stock to the casual observer.

Brand Name does matter. I always trust AEM, I have an AEM CAI on my '00 4 cyl.
