Default Running wire into steering wheel

I have a 2002 Accord Se, and I am wanting to put the audio controls on the steering wheel (like the Ex version). I was wondering how I am going to run the wire into the steering wheel... Am I going to need a new cable reel? I looked into Infrared and Rf, but didn't see anything that I think that could help me... I tried to post this earlier, but i don't think it went through.. sorry for duplicates if it does... Thanks for the help!

you would best be looking at a cable reel for sure. if you were running wires it would break over a short period of time and who knows, it might even get stuck.

Man... that's what I was worrying about... after a little looking around, it will probably be the best way... The only other idea that I had (and I don't know how I feel about this) is to not use the airbag, and splice into the SRS wires that will feed into the steering wheel and connect it that way... but then again, there is always that "One time" and I have to HAVE Murphy's in my family history, with the kind of luck I got! ... Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it...

no prob i suggest you stay away with the SRS as they will do nothing but throw error codes.

Yeah, I figured that is what would happen also... Well, I ordered a new clock spring, and it should be in sometime next week... now I gotta fabricate a bracket for the audio switches, and cut out the housing... This is going to be alot easier now I have the wire situation taken care of... Thanks again!

Honestly, I have only seen fiberglassing on tv and in magazines... I figured that that I would use my dremel and cut out the side, and use some metal to make a bracket... basically, it would look stock.... That's all I am really going for.. I just had a Scion Xb, and then my wife and I found out that our second child is on the way, and I knew that the Xb wouldn't be big enough to be our main ride, and the Honda would be okay... it's just that a medium and small (cargo size) car would not be too much fun. Long story short, we got her a used 4runner, and I got the Honda.. Now, in my Scion, my eclipse was a two wire hook up, and a firmware update. After checking with eclipse, they have a firmware for Honda's also.... I never cared about having these controls, until I had them... Man, they are nice to have... SO, that is why I am going through this mess! I can see the light at the end now, though! :irock: Just gotta wait on the clock spring.. My wife rode in the Honda for the first time, and asked "what the hell? Steering wheel broke?" She knew I was trying this out, but she had no idea what it took! Sorry to be so long winded.. thanks again!
