03 Accord 6 disc changer removal
#2
Hey I have an 06 Accord and I used instructions I found online for removing the radio in an 03 accord which was pretty much the same... I can't remember the site but I did it soo many times over the past week, Ima try my best to explain from memory:
You are gonna need a Flat-Head and a Phillips ScrewDriver
- The radio is connected to the dashboard in the center and runs up under the windshield.
- Use the flathead screw driver to pop out the dashboard which is connected to the vents (I usually sart closer to the winshield and work my way down)
- You should pop the center panel out toward yourself.
NOTE: Be very careful not to scratch the dashboard with the screwdriver - I've made a couple dents in the soft material but it returns to normal after some time.
- This will reveal three screws - Remove with the phillips.
- Take off the plate around shift knob - Use the flathead to pop it up.
- This will reveal 2 screws - Remove with the phillips
- Open the ashtray and use the flat head to take out the insert - If there isn't an ashtray, make sure NOT to remove the rubber insert, but rather the the hard plastic under that - it should pop right out with a flat head.
- That will reveal two other screws - Remove with the phillips
- Now you can slide the storage compartment toward you to remove - Make sure it is closed in order to remove
- You will see two bolts under the radio (I think it's 5/16)
-Remove those two and the radio should slide out toward you.
I hope this helps!
(I'll be taking the radio out again this weekend to connect a LOC for my amp ha)
