Standard mods on a 4cyl are Intake/headders/exhaust. The intake could either be a short ram or a Cold Air.

For handling you can try tires, strut tower brace, brakes, sway bars.

Under your budget, you can't do it all.

Quit being a dick..

Matthew, you could do I/H/E (intake, header, exhaust), but it might exceed your budget...Just start with one and the rest will fall in place

Or a '97 with 50,000 on it. An '07 with 5K is a pretty nice car for a first. Hell if my kids will ever have something like that unless they buy it themselves.

If its really a 97 Accord w/ only 5k miles on it. I'd sell it. you can easily get over $ 8k for it. i'd buy another cd5 or cd7 (4cyl) and work on that. you'll save up enough to do some nice upgrades.
