Dont you think they are prepared for people that may try that same scheme. Your not the first or the last person to come up with this idea.
They obviously have your mileage on record so why try to change out the cluster? The cluster works with the ECU so if you change the cluster the mileage (correct one ) will reappear.

Call Honda Care and see what they can do. Maybe they'll cover some parts and you pay labor etc....
