Seafoam it...see what happens

Black would be a cause for 02 sensor or filter, so change the filter and see if that helps

Yeah, but since you said it wasn't on...I would suggest fuel filter, since its the obvious fix now...

try this ...

look for the "radio" fuse in the fusebox on the side of the dash. Yank it. Put it back in 5 minutes. Start your car and let it idle for 10 minutes. Drive normally after (no A/C, no flooring it, etc).

If you have an OEM (stock) radio, make sure to have your PIN number available.

What this will do is rest the ECU. I'm thinking your fuel mapping might be a little goofy.

If anyone tells you this isn't the proper way to reset an ECU, tell em to stick it.

Do you have a lot of Random junk in your car? maybe the trunk? Heavy toolboxes and extra tires/rims apply additional unessesary weight.

What you'll need to do is cal. the MPG. I think our tank holds about 17.8 gallons.
fill up your tank FULL, reset the trip Odometer drive till your gas light turn on.
Fill up your tank and write down the number of Gallons actuall USED.
Mileage on Trip Odometer/Acutal Gallon filled up=MPG
IE: 240miles/15gallons=16MPG

try changing out your coolant temperature sensor. one of the mechanics (working on hondas for over 15 years) told me that it could also be a problem. and change out ur oxygen sensor.

buy one from ebay for $50 (bosch) and plug it in yourself.

few months ago i was getting around 160 in a fulltank. i had my oxygen sensor replaced and used "techron" fuel injector cleaner and now i'm back up. i'm also going to replace my coolant temperature sensor and see if that helps out even more.

i've went up from 11mpg to 20-25mpg. it changes all the times
