Default Can I? 94 f22b2 into 96 f22b2

The motor is from OBD1 and the car is OBD2.

Any wiring chages?

I believe OBD1 to OBD2 = lots of wiring changes.

should bolt right in and use your OBD2 harness but...you have to use your oil pump as the crank and tdc position sensor are mounted to it or use a OBD1 dizzy and extend the 4 wires from the crank / tdc sensors and change the plug to fit the OBD1 dizzy.

Thanks for the replies.
I think from searching and doing a parts comparison I need to:
swap over from the 96:
both lower timing sprockets
lower timing cover
oil pump assembly
add the TDC to the 94 motor
use the 96 distributor
maybe the tensioner? couldn't tell from parts list

(just like "stereo" said) I'll keep the "extend the wires" in mind if something doesn't match up.

if you swaped out the oil pump with the lower sprockets all your old parts should bolt back on everything else should be the same.

not sure if anyone would ever check but in the US it's technically illegal to put an older (year) engine into a newer (year) car. The vise-versa is ok however.

Someone would have to verify the block ID at an e-check/smog check however.

I depends on the state your in but in california it has to be the same year or newer for a swap and all emission controls, ECU, OBD has to be from the same motor as well, but for a replacement motor JDM motors just have to have the same block code F22b for JDM and 94-97 accords have the F22b2 motor only thing that tells the year is the serial # but if all OBD2 stuff is on the OBD1 motor and passes the tailpipe it will pass smog.

I live in NY and I hate the fact that I now will have a 96 (OBD2) car. But My inspection station only plugs the car in through the servive port (or whatever) and doesn't check under the hood. Atleast on my wifes 00 CR-V. So if I can get this motor to run without throwing any codes I should be fine.
Plus I don't usually sell whole cars when I'm done with them (strip and reuse good parts-junk the rest), so I won't have any "next owner" issues.

I have noticed that f23a5 (non vtec) engines from 98-02 are plentiful and just as cheap, so I may look into doing that swap in the near future. This is going to be my work car (about 50,000 miles per year), so I will probably need another motor in a year or two anyway. But I need to get this running ASAP and as cheap and easy as possible while I research other swaps.
