Look in your owners manual for instructions to turn it off. I believe you have to push the reset button with the ignition off, the same button that resets your trip odometer. Then turn the ignition on, still pushing the reset button, holding it for 10 seconds or so. This should reset the maintenance light. There is no sensor or anything that will "detect" when you've done your maintenance. The light is timed strictly on miles (or maybe months too, dunno).
