Where is the Check Engine Light Diag Connector on a 94 Accord?
Does anyone know where the two pin diagnostic connector that is used to flash the check engine light codes is located on a 94 Accord LX? It's supposed to be behind the glove compartment but I can't find it. I've had the dashboard apart twice (to change bulbs) and I can't find it.
I just want to find out what is turning on my check engine light. I have the codes in my Chilton Manual, but the description of where it is located is not correct.
I tried some auto parts stores like Advanced Auto Parts who do the diagnostic for no charge, but I seem to have an OBD1 system and they only do OBD2.
It seems like this two pin connector is what I need, but finding it is a problem.
Can anyone help? Thanks.

Service Check Connector
There isn't any visible 2 pin or 2 wire connector. I just came back from a Honda dealer. They gave me a photocopy of the diagram in their service manual. It's similar to the one shown in my Chilton's Manual.
Honda calls it a "Service Check Connector". It's supposed to be next to the Data Link Connector (which is a 3 pin connector). It should be just hanging there with nothing connected to it. That's where your supposed to jumper the connecter with a paper clip or piece of wire.
It's just not visible anywhere.

i have the same car (94 LX) and its actually UNDER the glovebox, i.e. you dont need to open the glove box door to get to it. Kneel on the ground and look at the bottom right corner underneath the glovebox and there should be two connectors sitting in a dummy connector port- it just keeps the connectors in place. its a blue two wire connector, when you jumper it, the check engine light should come on.
I found the wire colors arent' exactly the same as mentioned in the books, but its the only 2 wire connector there so that should be the one.
hope that helps!

Bingo! There it was hiding in plain sight. So much for the manuals saying it was BEHIND the glove box. I guess I took it too literally. The illustrations showed the connector hanging out in the breeze, not in the dummy port, and never mentioned the dummy port.
I have a 41 code. It translates to the heater for the heated oxygen sensor. It seems to me that the heater would be in the sensor housing itself and the whole sensor needed to be replaced. What do you think?
Also my speedometer operates intermittently. Sometimes it works and most of the time it indicates 20 MPH whether I'm moving or not. Since I didn't get a code for the speed sensor, it seems like it might be the speedometer head. Would you agree?
Thanks to all that helped me out.
