Default 2003 Accord EX V6 M/T: Violent Shaking

My 03 EX V6 M/T Coupe has developed a problem as of late with shaking. I can't figure out if it shakes all the time, or just under load, or just at a certain speed. Hopefully I'm not too short on information to be understood, and maybe some others have this problem too.

At ~50,000 miles my car started to violently shake when accelerating to freeway speeds. At 51,000 miles I had to replace my tires due to some bastard slashing all 4. I checked my motor mounts, and they look fine as best I can tell. I did a standard tune up, checking plugs and replacing oil and such. Still shakes.

I can't tell if it shakes only in 3rd and 4th gear between 3,000 and 4,000 RPM, but that is the most common time. I thought for a long time that it had to be something wrong with 3rd or 4th until recently it hit me that it might be related to speed - since in 3rd and 4th, I'm usually going around the same speed. Maybe it is when I hit 50-60 mph that it shakes. I really have no clue why it shakes, but I would appreciate any help in making it stop.

I don't want to have to pay for an alignment if that's not what I need... Especially since I haven't hit any curbs or smashed any potholes since prior to the shaking. That's the only thing I can think of, though.

If I left something out, let me know. If you want me to try something to see if I can re-create the shake, let me know. I don't want to take it to the dealership to trade in my shifting arm just to see why it shakes...

Any ideas?

You talkin about the steering wheel?

Or like an engine "misfire" under load

The steering wheel as well as the car. I.E. If there is no passenger in the passenger seat, you can visually see it shaking from side to side.
It doesn't seem like a misfire, mostly because there is no significant loss in power...

There has always been a lot of torque steer, though... I just assumed that was normal for the accord?

Does it shake when you are cruising, during hard acceleration, or both?

Every time one of my vehicles shook at a certain speed all the time, it was tires out of balance. When it shook during hard acceleration, it was always the wheel bearing(s)

It is possible that bad tie rod ends could cause a shake as wel. I doubt the alignment being off would cause a shake.

I've tried to ask passengers if they feel the shake at a cruising speed... I get different responses. It's pretty violent during acceleration, but I'm not sure if it's just road response or more shaking when I am cruising.

I thought that my car would shake a little if I turned it to a lock and went in circles if the cv joints or bearings were bad. Well, it seems I must just take it all apart and try to figure it out. I thought someone would have the same problem to a T, so I'll just post my findings... when they are found.

Thanks to all who helped.

most likely the main hub bearing is bad... might also be that the nut on the hub is loose, your wheels are out of balance, your axle is bent, or maybe your lugnuts are just loose. i've experienced all of the above
