Default clutch return spring 91 accord

Yesterday my clutch return spring popped off the clutch pedal and I'm not sure how it goes back on. I tried 2 different ways, the only ways it looked like it could go, but either way it didn't work, the spring kinda rotated in the notch rather than apply pressure to return the pedal. The only thing I can think of is it has to be twisted 1 full time before put in place (which would be very hard to do). The pedal still comes back just very lightly and barely any pressure is needed to depress it. It's also not letting me put it in gear while the car is running when I depress it, but that may just be because the spring isn't on. I looked online and did a search on this forum and I couldn't find anything. Any information (a picture of one that is on correctly would be nice) would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I'm taking it in to get it looked at tomorrow morning. I bled the clutch lines and it works now but its still rough so I may still need a new master/slave cylinder or possibly even a new clutch. I hear that a bad master cylinder can burn your clutch. I will keep you updated once i find out what i need. Thanks though.
