Shaving antenna

i think its a better idea to get a new antenna mast off ebay. if you still don't want to use the antenna at all anymore, just unplug the power from the antenna motor when the antenna is all the way down.
the problem is if there are broken teeth inside the antenna motor, you have to take it out, open it up and remove them. its not *that* bad, but i had some problems with mine... the mast was stuck in there. you should see what i had to do to it to get it out............
a bolt and a rubber plug would look pretty ugly

mayonaise: the coupe and sedan have different sized rear-windows to my knowledge. you would probably want to purchase a similar window and then shave it down slightly so it'll fit. if you can find someone to do it right, then with the window sealant and moulding done, it should fit right without leakage. just a thought though...

'K, all, here's an update. I went ahead with my bolt idea for now. It's a gradually rounded top, not hex -- imagine something like a flattened toadstool. First sanded the lettering down and to rough up the surface, then primed with rust-inhibiting primer (should give me a little more time between replacements) and then sprayed with the paint. It doesn't look too bad at all, and the whole thing only cost me $.045. Works for me!

I tried the same thing on my 94ex. It didn't work. The antenna hole is oval shaped on the 5th gens and it is too big for a bolt head to cover. I just unplugged my antenna motor and shoved the antenna down. FM reception is OK but AM sucks (I am a sports talk radio listener). I may try the s2000 conversion.

I know this is an old thread but I am bored so i am surfing.
I shaved mine and for now I have a piece of black electric tape on the hole to keep water out.I am goign to have the body shop fill it it later. The antenna kit I got (from radio shack) came witha plug, but the plug is too big and it says "if the plug is too big, just widen the hold" but I didnt since I am filling it later.

Maybe a couple people, kind of hard to remember who goes where sometimes. But up at school I think I've met a few who went there. I take it you're in this area, or at least used to be?

I was thinking you should try re-wiring your antenna and getting a similar antenna to the one on the 6th gen accords, mounted above the defogger. It would cost like $20 for rewiring the antenna back there and then maybe a little more to actually get the part.
i was told by a service advisor (or whatever they're called) at a honda dealer that the rear coupe glass won't fit a sedan. anyone else know differently?
hey ryce... i heard an upside down ping-pong ball cut in half worked pretty well
