Default Porter Cable 7424 counterweight

I have a new 2006 Civic Coupe and 2003 Accord Sedan. I purchased a Porter Cable 7424 buffer, with factory supplied white pad. The counterweight (which was shipped with the counterweight attached to the machine) says "use 6' pad only" on the counterweight. The counterweight is attached to the machine by way of a non-standard pair of screws, that have a rather strainge head. I've tried using both a slot type and phillips head screwdrivers to remove it with no success. Is there a special wrench or screwdriver that will fit the head of these screws properly? I need to be able to use this buffer with both 4" and 6" pads. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did a cut and paste on this from some site that sells the PC 7424. I have the 7336 and it works great.

In general, the 5-inch counterweight (p/n 874011) should be used with a 5-inch or smaller backing plate, whereas the 6-inch counterweight (p/n 699933) must be used with a backing plate larger than 5 inches. Weight is the true determining factor for the proper counterweight, not the backing plate or pad size. If your machine vibrates excessively, you may need to switch counter weights. You will need a Torx driver (size T15, not supplied with the machine) to swap counterweights.
