try getting estimates from several mechanics...
i'm pretty sure that the numbers (as in labor hours) is going to be roughly the same.... or just take what they tell you and get an average
I could be wrong though... anybody can comment on that?

Just type "dust filter" in the forum home page, you will find a DIY section with all the pictures. I did it at milage 61000, and it was last week. Its pretty easy and took me an hour to do it. I also asked the Honda dealer, they charge $30 for the filters and $90 for labor = $ 120 (wtf)!!!
You only need a star s.driver and you are set.
Hope it helps.
thanks
Bill.

Default 30k to change

I believe it is every 30k to change the cabin filter. I did it myself at 35k, and they were both pretty dirty. However, as dirty as they were, my cabin did not smell like ass.

The book says every 30k, but I changed mine (2005 ExL) at 22k cause mine started to smell like wet wood. Its much better now and the airflow seems to be better as well.

it is every 30k for the cabin filter, but the 6th gen's book makes no mention of it. i changed it at around 60k when i found out that there was one.

LOL...Jani I know what you mean....Initially a friend and I were wondering there's gotta be a filter somewhere cause I don't see dirt flying in the vents. The guy at Mieneke said its been some sort of firewall (still dont know what that means!) and takes considerable labor to get access to it. Started tinkering with the car but never could find it. Finally, saw a Sears mechanic do it. Its behind the stupid glove box...some firewall eh!!!!
