but still..... 16mpg for an i4 is pretty low

  • air filter
I've also done oil changes and the tires are fully inflated around 35psi. Somehow i still get on average of 16 mpg doing 80% city driving 20 % highway. I've done a search and saw most people get more than 16 mpg. Could anyone please tell me what else could i do to improve my mpg. Would changing the fuel filter help??? By the way I drive normal, and rarely go over 3000 rpms. I also use regular to fill up my tank. Thanks for reading.
all you need to do is make your clutch stiff like mine...i get on average 30mpg city on my '02 accord I4 5speed. yeah baby a full 17.1 gal tank lasts me about 550miles.

IF the CEL doesn't turn on at all there is no bulb.

I can't see someone getting 16 mpg and no check engine light.

When i have my key at the on position, the CEL comes on for 2 seconds so the light is working. :dunno:

The spark plugs i replaced with are NGK V-Power plugs. Indeed there's no check engine light on. I'm going to seafoam the engine, clean the EGR port, change PCV valve and see how i do on my next 2 fill ups.
You need to change the plugs again after you seafoam FYI

Also, try some lucas fuel injector cleaner and test the resistance of the spark plug wires.
