Default Hesitation and Jerking

Any help or advice will help.

i have a 91 Accord EX-R 5spd with 270K km
when driving i noticed lack of power and hesitation and jerking as if the engine is gonna fall off when i accelerate...the jerking happens at times but the lack of power is at all times.

when the jerking happens i easy off the accelerator and that usually helps and when I start pushing the accelerator its starts jerking again.

i took it to the honda dealer and they said it could be a number of things and i really can't afford it. if anyone knows the exact thing or what i should replace first, second, third then i can try with one thing see if the problem is fixed if not i'll go on to the next until i can resolve it....

please any advise will help...

desperately need my accord until next yr.

thanks

First, take off all the vaccum hoses that are connected to your intake/throttle body. Clean them out w/ some throttle body cleaner. And dump a bottle of injector cleaner in your gas tank. That would be the first thing I would do. I had the same problem on my civic. But the majority of the time, its the vaccum hoses being dirty.

i actually just bought some STP injector cleaner this weekend and then filled my tank. i will drive around for a couple of days and see how that goes.

is it hard to remove the vacuum hoses and clean them? if not i'll try this weekend. I have the Haynes book will that help or do you know any sites that detail this info.

thanks
