Default Alpine IVA-W200 on Accord Coupe 2000?

Does anyone know if the newly released “Alpine IVA-W200” fits on a 2000 Accord Coupe (4Cyl)? I was under the impression that Accord is a 2 DIN so this should fit like a factory radio. But when I checked on Crutchfield it’s says “This item does not fit your vehicle.” I’m waiting for this model since it was announced.

It fits the accord with the double din. Just use the brackets with the stock 6 disc cd changer to secure it in place. The mounting sleeve that alpine supply with the w200 will not fit in the accord. You need to fabricate and customize it for a clean look. Remember to get the PAC Tr-7 universal trigger as well to bypass the video locking system. yes, the tr-7 is compatible with the w200. If you want to retain your steering wheel remote that some accord has get the swi-alp made by PAC.

Video locking system? Can you explain?

I really like what this system has to offer. Specially the "bluetooth capabilities" (to paring with my nokia 6255i) the new "IPOD interface" and probably the addition of "blackbird navigation" down the road.

This will be a great upgrade over my Alpine 9807...

Most, if not all Alpine Video unit will only let you watch a movie while the vehicle is parked and the e-brake is up. Meaning you must engage the foot brake and then pull up the hand brake. When you're driving the Alpine dvd feature will not function (no picture). If you want make the dvd function while driving you would need a bypass trigger (PAC TR-7). Thus, triggering the foot brake and hand brake. The reason why Alpine does it like this is, it's the law. IT'S AGAINST THE LAW TO HAVE A MOVIE PLAYING WHILE THE DRIVER HAS VIEW OF IT.

DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

You would have to buy a separate unit for the bluetooth. As far as navigation, i'm sure the blackbird works fine. I think you would need to buy a craddle though. But i've heard the blackbird has some lagging issues. The gps locator on screen is about a few seconds behind actual location of the car. The other option for navigation is the separate module that Alpine has on their site. I think it's over a grand. Did i mention that it's has rear camera input ready? That's all Iknow of it. let me know if you have more questions.
