Default Does my 97 Accord EX have OEM Keyless? (Picture)

Going by these pictures, do you think this car has factory keyless installed? Does Honda even make the remotes for the 5th gen anymore?

I was told if there is a blue box with wires that look factory tapped, the car has the keyless control unit installed and just needs fobs. Anyone know for sure? I searched, but how are the fob's programmed? Thanks!

I think the only 97 that came with factory keyless is the SE and the unit has the control unit under the passenger side seat but thats in california cars.

Could it be the "dealer" installed version of the keyless entry system?

For the 5th gen EX,LX, Honda only offered a dealer installed complete
alarm system rather then a stand alone keyless like the 98 LX could
be installed.
Also the EX wagon had its own keyless entry.

My 96 accord ex had stock keyless entry. I got the remote control from ebay and follow the instruction and it did the job great. lock and unlock. but then I realize I was driving a honda so I got a DEI alarm system righ away.

So can anyone with a 5th gen Accord with Honda keyless entry tell me how to check to see if I have it? The dealer is TOTALLY clueless. Thanks!

I would just install an after market model and be happy with it. Hey, why not include autostart? Got it (viper alarm) in mine, great during the winter and hot summer days.
