While there is SOME debate, coilover "sleeves" are not all bad. We run Ground Control coilover "sleeves" on our Miata we race with adjustable Konis and the set up rocks. Ground Control uses Eibach springs and, as long as your shocks can handle it, they can give you whatever spring rate you need.

KYB AGX, while affordable, aren't all that in my opinion. Lots of guys run them because of the pricing. We had them on the Miata to start with but there is no comparison to the Konis. So for what you get, the AGXs are decent. KYB makes a decent shock. If you can afford it, go ahead and step up to at least the Tokicos Illuminas (adjustable) and then for just a bit more the adjustable Konis.

If you want a similar-to-OE ride then go with the non-adjustable KYB G2s. They are what I run on my Accord with the stock springs. They ride great for a regular non-adjustable shock.

If you want to go all out then do 100% coilovers but be prepared to pay $1500+ for a real good set.
