My brother had 17s sand blasted, prepped, and powder coated any color he wanted for $50 a piece.

You can not do it yourself.

you can't powdercoat yourself unless you get the right equipment. i believe what they do is this:

a) sandblast wheels to get old finish off and clean surface
b) paint
c) bake in an oven at a very high temperature

the end result is a painted surface that isn't as delicate as typical car paint.

you could just take your wheels to a body shop and have them painted but you run the risk of chipping/scratching them a lot easier.

oh yea... and they DO sell kits for powdercoating... a friend of mine's uncle has one.

a lot of people just do some light sanding, some primer, and spray paint. Decent results for a couple hours of work and $15 or less in supplies.

Yup, 2 cans of paint. 1 can of clear coat and sand paper = around 15 bucks. Pic -

Painted the rims "Graphite." I'm happy with them.

there's a guy on this board that spray-painted his real-deal te37's... thought that took some balls.

For wheels, I'd for sure get them professionally powdercoated. Spraypaint may look ok now, but give it some time, I doubt it will hold up great.

your car is spray painted, how's it holding up?

Worst case is you spend another $15 after a couple years.
