Default This is a BiG Mystery?????????

This is driving me crazy, how do i stop this light in the glove compartment from staying on while the glove compartment is close(with out removing it). While im driving at night i can see it threw a little opening(yes i tried tighting the screws didnt work),i have a 91 honda accord ex, i have a couple of buddies that have the same problem, it seem like all of the honda accords from 96 and down all have the same problem,

Default glove box light

i had the same problem on my 97 accord. it got fixed when i took out the bottem half of the dash to put in a new shift stick. there are 2 rollers mounted to allow the glove box to move up and down. to remove them you must locate them inside the box. (very visable on the sides, just pop them out) the door will swing down. now just reassemble it. make sure the rollers are snapped in right. thats how my light no longer shines through that crack at night.

all that is probably not nessasary but, thats how i fixed it so...good luck.

lol I have the same exact problem on my 95. I've really thought about it before because it's not too noticable in my car but it is there.

Ahhh I see, very simple. At least for me. Same thing happened to my 94 accord. There is a little black hook which is what the actual glove compartment door locks to. You need to bend that back into its original position. It may take you a few trys, but its not too hard. Its a soft metal so its easy to do also.

I have this problem in my '94 integra. i usually just stuff a couple of papers or repair receipts in the way to close the gap so it doesn't light up.

Used to happen to me also. I thought I just had to much weight in it. Then after I took out the maglite it still happened. So I unplugged it.
