changing dash LEDS? (red, blue?)
I want to change the LED's in my dash to emit a different color. Does anyone know how hard/expensive this is to do? If anyone also has a picture that would be sweet too, and maybe a website with install instructions? anything would be appreciated

it's possible, its a pain in the butt and costs like $300 for all the special LEDs you need. I have the link for it on my currently out of commision desktop computer. If anybody wants to send me windows XP, I'll get it up post haste

i wouldnt say $300... but the LED's are about $3 a piece... and the resistors are like 99 cents for 5... then a soldering iron and solder if you dont have them already. They make 194 LED bulbs, which is whats used behind the gauges... they just plug in like a normal bulb...

well, your standard blue LEDs run $3+ tax at radio shack. the problem is that a lot of the smaller bulbs need a 3mm LED to replace them. And you really want to get special wide angle ones so you don't get hot spots of light. If you were really going to do the whole dash, you'll get nickled and dimed to death with the quickness. Just doing the climate control like I did only costs ~$30, but it's just not as cool as a complete transformation. If I ever get too much money and time, I'm going to do the rest of my dash, but right now I'm concentrating on my mobile video and custom trunk setups.
Oh, and there's nothing resembling a 194 bulb anywhere behind the dash.

white, red, or blue would be great.
the LEDs are expensive, especially for the wide angle ones, which i believe are $6 a pop. the normal LEDs which can be commonly used throughout are $3 but give hot spots. if you want to use the $3 LEDs without hot spots, you can shave down the tip to a flat surface and it would disperse the light more evenly.
yes, it will nickel and dime you to death...or at least until your wallet's empty. it's a very costly conversion, only for the serious.
if you find the plug-in bulbs for the lights behind the dash (there are two 194 bulbs lighting above the gauge pod, but i can't find the smaller counterparts that light up the needles, notches, etc) then link me or tell me where to order them from. i'd be gladly appreciated.
