Default Texas Law Regarding Lights

My uncle owns a 96 2 dr accord and he recently clear out the orange piece blinker on the taillight. now in the state of texas, are u required to have orange as a blinker color in the taillight or can u keep it any color near amber?

hmmm, I am in Texas. I have had mine cleared for about 2 1/2 months now. Have not had a problem yet in Houston and Austin. I have a red bulb, but with the mixture of the white lens, its more of a pink. Very dim during daylight, much better visiblity at night. But I am still cautious.

I believe he was talking about the front thought. I think it might be safest to go with an amber bulb for the rear, hopefully it'll still be orange when it comes out

I was speaking to eliteaccord when I said this quote. About the law, I was right in front of a cop during the daytime and used my blinkers in front of him. Didn't pull me over or anything. It probably depends on how anal the cop is.

rear is suppose to be anywhere from amber to red in the back turn... but i have the red/clear tails for 6th gen and left the stock clear bulb in my turns.. it kinda looks yellow in the daytime and at nite it's sorta clear but still sorta yellow.. i noticed on some volvo's.. they seem to just have a stock clear turn signal bulb that flashed almost as bright of a yellowish light as mine.... i passed texas inspection august of this year in travis (austin) county.. and the previous 2 years in collin (plano) county with my clear turn signal bulb.. yeah.. unless an officer really wants to be a dick.. should be aite.... oh.. btw.. pep boys sells the M3 (7440) bulb u need for ur rear turns in orange, red and hyperwhite made by apc = ( for 4.99 a pair...

azn1028, you don't happen to go to UT also do you? Just wondering, b/c if so, it would be cool to meet up and check out each others rides.

id rather have a fugly car and a fat check in my pocket
once it goes to court all it is a matter of showing your lihts are modified and are not the same color or brightness as stock. in fact your "pink" tail lights are the best candidate for that sepcially in morning or evening traffic....they are dim already and the sun at an angle makes it even harde rto see em
