Default Help:Complexity of Changing Rotors in '94 Accord

I heard 1/2 the front-end has to come out in order to change the rotors
on a '94 Accord. Sounds like a ridiculous enginerring feat by Honda. What year did they change this? (e.g. did it run the entire cycle through this body-style until 1997)?

also, approx. how much addit. labor hours will we be hit with to change the rotors/pads as a result??? My daughter's car is vibrating when braking & we know it needs new rotors up front.... thanks

What do you mean by 1/2 front end of the car. I never heard of anything like this. It probably your mechanic trying to rip you off so go to another one.
Changing the rotors and pads is never more than 2 hours of labor as far as I know regardless of vehicle's age, make and model.
Edit: Usually it is under 1 hour

Unfortunately yes, it's a horrible design...most call it a "hub-over-rotor" design, that requires you to remove the hub just to get to the rotors, really stupid. Luckily they did change that in 98 going with the rotor-over hub design...takes about an hour to change pads and rotors instead of the half day DIY project on the older Accords.

But there are some DIY threads here on the board, search and you'll find some.

Read above...your rotors won't take more than an hour, but people with the older Accords have said the job has taken upwards of 6 hours to DIY.

He is talking about getting it done from a mechanic i think since he mentioned labour hours. DIY mostly takes long for us since we dont have a lot of practice and knowledge.
