I just tapped off the rear speaker wires. I asked PAC about if I should worry about damage to the head unit from the converter, and they replied it would be fine.

The Bazooka tube was auto-on, so it came on when it sensed an audio signal, so no remote wire was used.

Not pack produsct,,,just one like it. It may not be adjustable, but do you really want to adjust it.... You can also get them at any sound shop. And yes I have seen them at those two stores ,just may not be the same brand. I did custom installs when I was a kid (19).

Hook the remote to an existing power line like a cigerette lighter. look at the fuse box cover or in the manuall and it will show you what fuse is for what.

You can hook it up that way,but you will be pulling the unit out . Its your choice. I was just trying to set you up so you wouldnt have to pull it. I'm not sure what color the wire is though.

On a 05 sedan the power antenna is yellow and green. I'm not sure if yours is the same.

I hooked up a Sony xplod 600w using speaker level inputs to an OEM head unit, Boston Acoustic speakers all around. I had to adjust the gain to make it sound half way decent. Output of the head unit is just too weak and the amp didn't have enough adjustment to make it sound decent for my taste. Mine was the 2000 model single disc with controller unit. I suggest you save up for a nice 4v head unit with 4 rca outputs and 2 preouts, mate that to a high quality amp and speaker setup. Why throw good money after a inferior setup? There are some nice double din systems out there that do all kinds of stuff...just be careful if you shop on ebay. Good luck!

Iam getting the same thing done on my car tommorow. My friend he would use a convertor for the AMP.
The other day, I was in the Parking lot and some guy turned his system on, Damn the bass was so loud the alarms on the parked cars went off. I dont want my car to be like that and I like the way the Stock 6CD HU looks so I decided to do it this way.

The way he is gonna hook it up is there will be no bass from the speakers and only the Sub will throw the Bass. there will be a seperate bass control with the switch.
I will post some pictures and details once its done.
