92 H22 v. Lude
i'm trying to decide between swapping in an h22 + MT into my 92 accord, or getting a new used, such as a lude. so, i was wondering if you guys have any input or opinions.
specific questions: curb weights, turning radius'/handling

specific answers: google.com, edmunds.com, etc
I would go with a 5th gen Lude (97+)...avoid all the hassle and move into a newer, faster, far better looking and handling car. But if you wanna do the swap, go for it

^ I agree. Just buying the 'lude would be easier. Then you could still trick out the 'lude as you get more money. However, if you want a project to play with and have the expertise, then go for the swap.

well,
the lude's curb weight is 2954 lbs, and mine is 2738 lbs.
the lude's cargo vol is 8.7 cu. ft, and mine is 14.4 cu. ft
the head space and leg room are pretty much the same
the lude wins in looks, but will also cost at least 2x as much as the swap
97+ ludes look like >$9k, and the swap should be <$5k
98coupevtec - how would the lude be faster than my car+h22, when the lude weighs more and they'll have the same engine?

You will be disappointed if you think your car is going to be fast when you swap in an H22 because it won't be...they're simply better bases for modification.
Oh and I was talking about your current car, not a hypothetical car with an engine swap.

Personally, I'd go with the Lude' vs. the swap, simply b/c swapping engines is a nightmare. Not to mention like wedley2 stated, you'd get far more attention in a Lude' vs. an Accord H22 swap.
Of course, this is just my opinion; I prefer things the easy way. h:
Now, if you want something SOMEWHAT unique (sorry to say though it's been done many times) and you enjoy sculpting something 'ordinary' into something 'your own', by all means go for it. Just bear in mine you're getting into a money pit and you're going to see your overall resale value drop dramatically.
Just my .02
