Default resignator removal on an 05 sedan

How do you remove the resignator on the intake off my 05? I'm not even sure what it looks like let alone how to do it. What gains do I get from this mod? Is it worth it?

I doubt you'll see any gains (maybe a horsepower?) and it will result in a slightly deeper engine tone. If you want gains, invest in an aftermarket intake system.

It's directly under the intake air filter.

the resonator in 7th gens is a huge box thats connected on both sides by plastic tubing (guides the air into the actual filter). i think it has a total of 3 pieces that are tightly clipped and/or bolted together. when all pieces are fully assembled, it forms this "V" shape w/ the resonator box at the bottom point. its impossible to take out by trying to pull straight up from the engine bay, mostly b/c its bolted onto the cars frame inside the fender somewhere. get to it by removing the front bumper.

well, it will make a noticable difference in sound but not much performance although the resonator was used to slow down and quiet the air...the air filter is small as fuck.

we did this on my friend's 6th gen, he just liekd the sound.
