Default Rear pad replacement for 99 Honda Accord

I am trying to replace my rear brake pads on a 99 Honda Accord w/ Vtech Engine. (disk brakes)

First time doing so on this vehicle.

Do i do the rear just like i do the front? change pads, c-clamp caliper?

Any help?

First of all, you misspelled VTEC. Second, this topic has been covered tens of times and can easily be found by using the search function and typing in 'rear pads' or 'accord brake pads' or something like that.

I saw a del Sol Si in the paper for sale and it said it had a 'V-TECH' engine...even ignoring the fact that it was the del Sol VTEC and not the Si that had the VTEC, it was a stupid mistake to make in a car ad.

Usually I make some smart ass reply related to a picture like this :chuckles: :

Welcome.

I'm sure you'll find some info if you search, but don't use a c-clamp on the rear, you'll need to rotate the piston in. You can use the special tools they make for that, or you can use a large flathead screwdriver.

The info I posted in the first link that 98coupeV6 posted pretty much should do it: https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...ord+brake+pads

Dude it's not v-tec, it's VTEC. There's a huge difference: it's not a pointless 'brand name' like Vortech, D-TECH and other similiar systems. The acronym stands for Variable valve Timing with lift Electronic Control.

To keep all the VTEC nazis happy, you better edit that and get rid of the "-"
