AIGHT! sorry for binging up this old thread, but i didnt wanna get bashed for making a new thread for basically the same thing...well, not really. but anyway, now i've decided to put 18's on my car...and i DO NOT want the 4X4 look...so now im looking to lower the car. what should i be aiming for...and the option to raise and lower the car as needed would be good, but is NOT required, as for i live in houston where we can get no rain to almost swimming in our houses. but yea....suggestions would be muchly appreciated

Well I can tell you that you aren't going to go to the effort to adjust the height because of rain. I could see doing it if you had snow, and you raised it up a bit in the winter and put winter wheels and tires on.

If you want to avoid the 4x4 look and are primarily doing it for looks, just get a sport spring such as Eibach prokit, H&R sports, etc. Match them with a performance shock like Koni, Bilstein, Tokico, etc. Or there are some complete spring/shock packages, Eibach and H&R both make them. Or if you want adjustability look at Tein, Apexi, etc coilovers.

If you want a small OE look drop for new plus sized rims look at some springs sold by H&R called H&R OE sports, it's a small drop (.75") but enough for the daily driver and you could likely reuse your stock shocks if they are new enough.

These would look great with 17" or 18" rim.

It's not a bad drop, but if you are going to the work, might as well at least get the sports imo. The Accord has a healthy portion of wheel gap, gotta take a chunck out of it.

I've seen the OE drop, and sure, it looked a little better than stock, but you really had to look hard to tell. I thought it would have looked better with more drop.

For me, the sport drop was nearly perfect...but I brought it down another .25" up front with my Koni's and then I was really happy with it.

His car doesn't look that good, black is very slimming and he hides the flaws well with good lighting.

But the camera adds 10 pounds h:

I've seen pictures of his car when it's all salted up and it still looks better than mine. Magic.

Haha...I'll take the heat over the snow and salt anyday.

And thanks Chris...but Chad is right...taking pics of my car in direct sunlight is a cardinal sin...it's all about the right lighting with black.

Get the HFP 17in rims on ebay. They are pimp! Look at my sig. Ive got them on my 04 ex 6sp coupe. I try to keep it as factory as possible but still elegant. I think its a good choice for the money.
