17s on a 05 especially are a waste of money

 

what makes you say that?

 

the bigger the body style, the bigger the rims need to be for the ideal look. i wouldn't put lower than 18's on anything besides a civic or teg

I have 19's with 215/35 tires on my accord and I think it looks good. Although I have a some what "big gap" in my wheel base right now.Well, whatever you do your still going to have a gap untill you lower it so....

 

Well it's not exactly your "wheel base", but yes, you'll have plenty of unsightly wheel gap. 19's without a drop=4x4 style.

Not really. If he is planning on going with some 15, 16, or 17s, then matching them with the right size tire could keep the wheel diameter the same as stock, and would not make it look like a 4x4. It would be stock height and stock gap.

 

17s would be ideal if you still want some comfort. But 18s look sweet on 6 and 7 gen Accords. When I finally get some wheels it will be 17 because I value comfort over sport because of the roads where I live at.

 

I prefer 17s. I feel that it is a good compromise between looks, comfort and performance like Bone said. Even with stock wheels, the ride of a Honda is already bumpy. Personally, I would not want anything that would make it worse. However, if you going just for looks and performance, 18s are good. 19s seem to be overdoing it, not to also mention that it just kills your fuel efficiency. Well, this is just my opinion, and hope this helps.

 

I went from stock steelie 15s to 16s and HR rated tires and noticed a big diff. in ride feel. I can only imagine what 18s would do. I agree that 18s would look great, but my old butt wouldn't like the stiff ride day in/day out. I do a lot of hwy. driving, so I still like some comfort. As far as handling now, I can't complain. I have to take a "naughty hard" turn to get the tires to roll over in a disagreeable way. I try not to be :rick:

If I did anything else for handling, it would be to upgrade the stock struts/springs (with slight drop) because they are the weak link. If you're into performance, don't forget to pick up a TSX rear sway. I still swear by mine. Best $50 you'll spend.
