Default Removing main relay? 6Gen

I've already searched.

I need to re-solder the main relay.

Trouble is I can't get it out. I've pulled and pulled and even tried to bash it with a hammer (short temper) but I couldn't fit the hammer up under the dash so good.

Any ideas?

Frickin Haynes manual don't say sheet about it.

not so sure on the 6th gen...but on my 4th gen it was connected w/ a bracket via one 10mm bolt.

just use a small flat tip screwdriver and pop the relay out of the mounted cover on the plug side.

Like all Hondas I've worked on. First you'll need to remove the large object that is blocking the path. Maybe a fuse panel or other control boxes. Pulling harder will only likely seize it. Hammering it proably bend something that might aid in the removal.

First remove the connector before you stick a crowbar in there. Then attempt to separate the steel flap from the relay case.

The Haynes manual is no help in cases like this since the removal procedure is unique.

So how is the plastic relay case even connected to the metal flap? Tabs?

Isn't this in my TSB thread?

Edit: No, it's not, just its location. Most relays in the 6th gen that I've looked at or removed are held on by a very robust clip that requires a lot of prying and pulling. Try looking it over better because they can be very hard to see.

Yep. The tab is very robust. Use a heavy duty flat head screw driver, much larger than the one I'd photoshopped in. This is best way since it is too crowded to try a 10mm socket.

Most of us that replace the relay simply disconnect the harness and then snap the new relay in. Press or squeeze the lock inward on the harness side and pull the harness away from the relay.
