Default Help! cd player wont hold memory 1985 accord

i just recently installed a sony xplod cdx-fw700 into my 85 accord. every time i cut the car off and take the key out the deck resets. the deck that i took out had the same problem. it wouldnt hold memory. other than the memory everything is working fine. can anybody please tell me whats wrong and how to fix this problem. im getting tired of setting it up every time i get in the car. thanks

i dont exactly know but checking the fuse would always help. maybe the deck is getting shorted out or something.

Sounds pretty apparent that you don't have the ACC hooked up, or it's not working properly. There are two power wires, the main power lead and the ACC which has constant (unswitched) power to maintain the deck's memory, clock, etc. I don't know about your year, but it's probably the red lead, whereas the switched power is the yellow.

Make sure that the yellow wire off the head unit has 12 volts constantly even when the key is off.this will also help with the memory with your radio stations and your clock.
