O2 sensor install
Hey I just bought a 96 honda accord ex coupe just over a week ago and one of the problems i have to fix is the check engine light. A mechanic friend of mine ran a diagnostics and he said that it was the "before" or bank one o2 sensor that had failed. so i went out and bought a used o2 sensor from a junkyard and now i just have to figure out how to install it before my emissions inspection. i just need to know how to do this and what tools i need like a car lift or jack or other fancy tools. and what i'm also curious about is whether you have to reset the check engine light code and if so how to go on about resetting it so that it would pass emissions. i know that getting this repaired at a shop would probably be way overpriced. the honda dealership i called told me that the o2 sensor was 260 dollars just for the part.
another less urgent fix that i also have to do is replace the instrument cluster because the odometer is broken. i also bought a used instrument cluster at the same junkyard for a very reasonable price. if also replacing the instrument cluster is easy then i plan on doing that by myself.

All you need to do is get underneath the car, unplug the O2 sensor harness and then unscrew the O2 sensor with either a crescent wrench or a 22mm special O2 sensor socket. Put the new one in, connect the harness and you are good to go.

also ur o2 sensors are under the warranty depending on the miles on the car. ask the dealer about it. and if anything i suggest u get the o2 sensor from autozone with lifetime warranty and they are less expensive than the dealer.
