Running nitrous on a stock clutch manual will eventually wear out the clutch over time, not the tranny itself. Cost to replace w/ a better clutch that can take it = $500. Running nitrous with auto will completely ruin the transmission itself...cost of rebuild/another stock tranny = about $1500, cost of tranny that can take nitrous for a while = at least $3000.

It's really not worth it...yeah it'd be a lot of fun, and I'd like to try it sometime, but the consequences outweigh the benefits IMO. A Comptech S/C will do less damage over time but is pretty expensive...if you really want power, do a CL-S engine/6 spd swap.

Yea, you are probably right, short term fun and the expense of some serious damage later on. I watched a program on Spike TV where they built a car (bottom up of course) that had a dual bottle NX setup. However, the engine, tranny and drive line was all heavy duty pro-stock or race. I can't remember the insane hp to the wheels it put out, but if I tried that on my 76,000 stock engine/tranny it would probably explode like the fourth of July in DC. No Nitrous for me. I have been investigating engine swaps. More later...

There's only one to do if you have the money. I would do it if it wasn't a Honda Accord. I'd much rather save up my money for an S2000 or S4.

Why would a 50-shot of Nitrous at speed on an entrance ramp be any worse then a comptech SC?

Speed is speed and torque is torque, If you're in 2nd or 3rd on an entrance ramp and only use the nitrous for a quick shot down the ramps here and there I can't see that being nearly as hard on the drivetrain as the SC off the line and boosting daily.

It would be hard shots out of the hole that would kill the system. In either case.

I've had my system on my accord now for over 3 years and my car runs just as strong as it did before i had the Nitrous installed. No Problems what so ever. Just make sure that you don't get a cheap system that doesn't monitor your fuel presure and if you get it I would suggest also getting headers, fuel rail, bigger fuel injectors and a fuel presure regulator. Get AEM if possible on the fuel upgrades. I have DC Sport Headers.. Just a FYI.

Why? I'm fairly mechanically inclined.....I think I could handle a simple nitrous install.

Why do you have the upgraded fuel system, how big a shot are you running?

An upgraded fuel rail won't do jack for a wet kit either, you would likely be better off with a bigger fuel pump in most cases. And a dry kit should never out run the duty cycle of the stock injectors.

I would likely skip the fuel upgrade for a small shot and focus on a lower heat range plug set or upgraded ignition system as well.

Glad to here your kit runs fine though.

I'm running a 100 shot direct port injection.. and i 4got to add the fuel pump to the list. You should always upgrade your fuel system with any kind of upgrade like , Turbo, Supercharger or Nitrous. As for my comment for getting it professionally installed.. It wasn't directed to you it was for neonknight
