Default im worried i need help HELP

this might be a little lengthy but please bear with me.
so about 3 weeks ago i installed a RS R exhaust on my 04 accord coupe I4. there are 3 welded bolts after the Cat. they were hard to take off when i was removing the stock exhaust. so i did it and intalled the new exhaust. the top nut was hard to screw on the welded bolt cuz there was no room at all. so i installed it and went on a test run on the freeway. i noticed the power gain. after the run smoke was coming from the cat, or around that area. i looked and i guess the nuts werent tight enough so it could of been the exhaust fumes escaping or it could of been the gasket that came with the exhaust that might of been burning, i dont know. so i tightened them more. i still kept noticing a mild burn smell. that smell is completely gone now but everytime i use my car and i turn it off, there is a constant clicking noise coming from the cat, or around that area. it clicks really fast and as the car is cooling the clicking goes less and less. this happens everytime i turn off my car. my question is, does anyone know why this clicking sound is happening? thank you

The clicking is probably your new exhaust cooling off.

Next time use a torque wrench for this kind of thing and tighten to factory spec.

:werd: Just cooling off. And it's normal for a burning smell after any new exhaust products.

i hope your right about it just cooling off. but it seems like the noise is coming from my cat and not my exhaust so it cant be my exhaust cooling off. i guess i'll just be patient and wait till something goes wrong. maybe im just worrying over nothing.

Cats get as hot as exhausts. My 2003 Accord I4 sedan does it everytime I shut it off.

hahahahahaha, ok, i'll take yalls advice. another quick non related question though, i read on a thread once that one can reset their ECU by disconnecting their car battery and waiting a while before reconnecting it. my friend told me though that i need to go to the dealership for them to reset my ECU. so which one is it? i ask because i heard since i installed a cold air intake and an after-market exhaust, i should reset my ECU to get maximum power cuz my ECU was set to the stock intake and exhaust.

You need more knowledgable friends. Unplugging the battery will reset any memory stored anywhere in anything. On 6th gens, you can also pull the clock/back up fuse. Not sure about 7th gens.

Disconnect battery for a minute or so on 7th gen. That's what I did when I got CEL after K&N CAI installation. CEL never came back.
