Default Rear view mirror

Hi,

I know it is not a major issue but it bothers me so I am asking for your input. I have 05 Accord LX (4cyl) and there is annoying sound coming from the inside rear view mirror (which is of course mounted on the windshield). It sounds like the little wire in the base of the mirror (which slides into the base) is vibrating when I am going over uneven pavement and makes a noise similar to what a paper clip would make if you place it on vibrating surface.

Now, I tried putting new wire ($1.50) in the base of the mirror (that wire essentially keeps the miror in place) but it does not help. I know it is minor but it bothers me.

Any suggestions?

Did you look for TSBs on it?

There is a link in my TSB thread. If there isn't a TSB, try stuffing something into the base to absorb vibrations - like a piece of terry cloth or cotton or rag or something.
