replaced AC compressor- blows hot air- help!!!
i replaced my wifes ac compressor and i replaced all the o-rings in the system. i flushed the ac system with some kind of AC flush from advance. I replaced the receiver drier as well. Then, I hooked all the lines back up, started the AC up, and added freon.
It blows hot air. not a single hint of anything cold. The guage reading stays steady at full for about 20 seconds, then drops down to empty.
I have checked the system for leaks, but found none. Is there a switch or something that I should check? The compressor sycles and comes on, just no cold air blows out.
What should I do? I dont know crap about AC systems.
Thanks guys!

there could be a leak in your condenser. You might try to find a mechanic that could either check the freon level or add dye to the system. That way if there is a leak an area will be colored with UV dye or whatever color he uses. We've had to do that once or twice.
I know when we check for a leak we put a vaccum on it and see if it holds for awhile or see if we can get it down to 20 or close to 30. I know ac checks if you can find them will only cost you maybe 30-50 dollars depending on where you go. Try that if you keep hitting road blocks.

when the A/C system is exposed to the atmosphere (opening lines for example), it HAS to be hooked up to an A/C machine that can "vacuum" the system out before you add any freon, otherwise you can add all the freon in existence and it still won't blow cold.

i know that, because if you were to open a line while there is freon in it, it will naturally go into the atmosphere which costs quite a bit of money if someone reports it. I meant like vaccum'n out the system and seeing if it would hold a vaccum otherwise it might have a leak. I haven't really fixed a lot of ac's yet so i'm not real sure on this stuff yet.
I start classes for my auto mechanics degree next month...so maybe after a year or two i'll know better ways to answer these. sorry if that sounded retardted.
