check this out sparkplugs.com it tells you what the plugs do and which are the better plug ...you just have to look around on the site for it ...they are also a good source for cheap iradium plugs ...autozone wanted 11.00 and I got them there for 6.00.

get either ngk iridium or v-power,or denso the bosch 4's give you no extra performance.it only sparks one electrode at a time and is pretty much impractical and worthless.waste of money if you ask me.

Bump from the grave...

I have to change out the sparkplugs in my car soon. I think I'm going to go with the platinums, but how much of a longevity increase do they offer over copper? How long before you have to change out copper plugs, and how long is it before you have to change out platinum plugs?

And btw, where is the best place to buy platinum plugs? Can I install them myself? Do I need a torque wrench? Do I have to manually set the gap?

LOL you guys no waaaay too much about cars, I run Bosch Platinum 4's in my 94 Accord EX and they work fine, I've had them for like a year now and there has been no problems and there was a slight increase in throttle response and economy. GO WITH WHATEVER YOU WANT MAN, as long as it is the EXACT plug for your car.

Where did you hear they only spark one electrode at a time? Do you know what an electrode is?

I had the BOSCH +4 Platinums and it was a complete waste of money.

98-99 Accord's used a standard NGK plug.

00-was the first year for the NGK platinum plugs.

either of the above plugs will work fine.
I picked up a set of Iridiums, b/c A-zone was out of platinums. They were cheap enough I could afford to easily replace them again in 25k-40k mi's.

In any case I would stick to either a Denso or NGK plug only for the Hondas.

Not true. I have a '99 and the Honda dealership told me that my Accord uses the platinum plugs.

I believe V6s used platinums for the entire 6th gen and Chad is referring to 4 bangers.
