I guess I should've looked under the hood or something...
Yeah, the 5th gen Accord V6 (94-97) came with a SOHC NON-Vtec motor
At that time, only the EX 4cyl was available with VTEC

The 00-02 V6 EX models has TCS, ABS, and side airbags with leather seats. The traction control button is on the left side of the sunroof button. 01-02 has different wheels (EX models) than the 98-00. The LX V6 has hub caps and cloth interior

The V6 isn't all the fast. As a mattar of fact, the best time stock is a 15.8. while the 4cyl manual is in the mid 16's. I even rac a 16.3 with only a CAI. I figure with some bolt ons, I can match the time of a V6 if not run faster.

IF it's the V6 it probably has tranny issues also. Make sure it's purchased from an authorized Honda dealer. If it's a certified preowned Honda, it'll come with a 7yr 100K mile Warranty that covers teh tranny and motor.

80K and running fine. The transmission issues are well documented and well exhaggerated. You only hear the horror stories, if you ask any V6 owner, they'll say they haven't seen a thing.

The tranny issue effected 3% of all V6 automatic transmissions. That not only covers the Accord, but also Odyssey, TL, and CL.

COrrect, it covers the Odyssey, CL/TL and Accords. It's true you only hear the horror stories of the tranny flaws, but there seem to be a lot on the other boards I'm on

Honduh.com
accordtuner.com
hondasociety.com
6thgenaccord.com
v6performance.net

Also, I know 6 people who has V6 Accords, and 4 of them have had the tranny replaced while the other two are driving and waiting LOL

I understand not all the trannys are defective, but I'm sure 2 out of 10 people know someone who has or is having a trans replaced in their V6 Accord.

Even one girl I know has a 03 Accord coupe (V6) and received this letter in the mail from Honda

my family has 2 EX-V6 accords, one had the tranny problem and the other didn't (so far, knock on wood). that's some bad luck considering the 3% failure rate.

i'd take an EX-V6 coupe if i could find a good one that's honda preowned certified. if you get that 2000, take a look at the OEM kit.
