Tire Specification Question - 01 Accord V6
Hello,
I have a 2001 Accord EX V6. I need to replace the tires on it. The specifications are P205/65R15 92V. Is it ok to put tires with specification P205/65R15 94V? I know that its the load capacity thats different but as long as its greater than 92, am I ok?
Btw, I am talking about BFGoodrich® Touring T/A P205/65VR15. Any feedback on this tire?
Thanks.

Another question on the same topic - Do I really need a V speed rating? All the tire shops I have called say that I should be just fine with H and would also be saving a lot of money. Moreover, many of them don't even have the tires with V rating in stock.
I am a newbie here and any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

I believe H is up to 130, which is more than you need. I've had Z rated tires, which are rated to 180 (I think). The rule of thumb is that the higher the speed rating on the tire, the better it will handle (although this is certainly not the rule).
www.tirerack.com is an awesome place for this kind of info, and they have great prices. They also have a great reviews section. I've had dedicated summer tires and winter tires, but currently have Goodyear Assurance TripleTred - I cannot say enough about these tires. IMO, they're the best all seasonal on the market right now (and the tirerack user reviews agree with me). They're exceptionally quiet, pretty comfortable, and actually do better in winter than my old Dunlop winter tires. They're nowhere near the agility and grip of some of the summer tires I've had, but they handle way better and give much more feedback than any all seasonal I've ever driven on.

Thanks for the input.
Michelins are way too expensive. I found out that the Falken Ziex ZE-512 are quite affordable even with a V speed rating. Read very good reviews about them too on this forum. So, might go with them.

I have the BFgoodrich Touring T/A tires on my car, the H-rated ones.
~10K miles on them & they still look brand new, rotated twice (directional front to back on the same side), taken it up to 90-95 mph w/o any problems, no problems on dry roads, pretty stable on wet roads -- overall, good tires for the price (got it mounted, aligned, lifetime balance & rotation, warrantee, and the old tires disposed for $400).
But it's a bit louder and a bit firmer than the OEM Michelin's so if you're looking for an ultra-comfy/soft ride or do a lot of highway driving, you should look into something else.
these are the "bestsellers" for the Accord according to tirerack:
- Continental ContiExtremeContact
- Yokohama AVS dB S2
- BFGoodrich Tration T/A H
- Yokohama Avid H4S
- Kumho Ecsta HP4 716
forgot to mention, definitely checkout reviews & prices on tirerack
