Replaced my front SPC adjustable upper ball joint and the loud pop is still there.... SUCKS!!!! Looked under there and can't see anything obvious.. maybe it's time to bring it into the shop unless anyone can help. The pop is definitely happening more and more often..... driving me nutz!!!!! It could be so many things, how do I narrow it down? Is it my Tokico gas shocks, OBX Coilovers, lower ball joint, controll arm, axle, wheel bearings?.?.?.? aaaaahhhhhh!!! Any ideas fellas?????

Happens when the wheels are turning or when you're turning the steering wheel? Have any inside mounted balancing weights on your wheels that could be hitting? My wheels are so close that one of the weights will rub the steering knuckle when turned all the way...

It sounds like it is just the boot . If you lowered the car recently most likely the boot is making noise when it rubs against itself creating this noise. I dont see a problem here. I bet thats what it is. If its not making the noise at high speed then its the boot. Rub some grease or squirt some oil on them and then let us know if you hear it.

Looks like a few of us is having this problem. I'm in the same boat. It's more rattling for me then popping. but I hear it in the front end. mostly going over bumps and sometimes when I turn the wheel all the way right or left then I hear that popping sound. I checked all the CV Joints but everything seems fine. Koni Yellows with a 1.5 inch drop so it's not extreme. The holes in Mass only make it worse. we all need help

wow...i just started hearing a popping sound recently also....it's at very low speeds such as when trying to parallel park..but it's just one pop and that's it..usually sounds when im turning the steering wheel to the left..but i definately do hear something
mind you the car only has 4600 miles on it, sounds a bit too early to be having a problem with it, heh.

Finally found the problem!!!!!
Such a simple problem can cause such headaches!!!!!! Brought my car in to my mechanic the other day. We both checked it out and he found the problem with in half an hour. The problem was cause by a few loose sub frame and suspension bolts underneath the car. There were a few bolts that were actually about 3/4 of a turn loose. My mechanic told me that when there is any suspension modifications that should be the first thing anyone should check for those sort of symptoms. Nuts and bolts tends to loosen up easier on a tighter suspension since there is more stress on the frame. He's probably right but I'm thinking when Honda replaced my transmission back in October of '04 they forgot to tighten a few bolts. I probably shouldn't complain too much since they gave me such a great deal ($1060 with 3 yr warranty on tranny) on a Honda certified rebuilt tranny especially since my car was out of warranty for over 2 years, but they still should have done the job right. Loose bolts underneath the car sounds like it can lead to major problems.. especially if it's holding the car together. Well, the problems fixed just glad it wasn't anything major like an axel or something. So my suggestion is get underneath your car and tighten any sub frame or suspension bolt you can get your ratchet on..... Good luck!!
