Default How's the Radio in 2005 Accord EX (4-cyl.)

I've heard some grumblings (not on this forum) about the radio that comes standard on the '05 Camry EX (4-cyl.). Does anyone know anything about this? My concern isn't what has the biggest, baddest sound--just want a quality product.

I know that the EX comes with the 6-CD changer. Anyone know how they hold up (assuming that this radio has been placed in earlier models and that there's a track record for them)?

Thanks,

Jenk

My Mom has an 03 EX and it sounds pretty good to me and seems to be holding up as well.

Are you asking about the Camry stereo or the Accord stereo? I think it is the Accord. It is very, very good for a factory system, at least when compared to previous generation Accords, my 2004 Pilot and my '01 Camry.

Of course, you should make your own evaluation at the dealer - take along your favorite CD's and turn it up!

As far as reliability, the '03 head units had some problems with the displays going out, but Honda has replaced them at no charge. The CD changer works well as long as you avoid using CD's with stick-on labels.

The only drawback is that the head unit is so non-standard, it is very difficult to find an attractive 3rd-party replacement if you want to upgrade. If you like the system, this is not an issue.

Ha! Yes, I meant to type "'05 Accord EX." Sorry for the confusion.

It's awesome. Crisp highs. And real good lows. No need for a subwoofer.

Greatest stock stereo I have ever heard. (In a non-luxury car that is.)
